Breyen 2017 FFA

“I have been involved in FFA for 3 years and I like that farming is my life style. I’m 14 years old and I have been raking and tedding for two years. Next year I’ll get to bale. I go to school at a rural school but I think I am about the only one who farms in my class. My Dad taught me that we work until the job gets done. I love farming….I like the alone time to think and be me, don’t have to deal with anyone telling me what to do. I think about anything and everything and nothing in particular. I also change a lot of water, next year I’ll be changing my Grandpas water. He’s getting ready to retire, so I will probably get to use his baler and my Dad will swath.

My future will be farming; I will be able to take over the farm after I go to college and get a business degree. My Dad says I can’t take over until I have a business degree. Maybe play some football in college too, right now I play corner and receiver and sometimes safety. Not sure where I will be able to go to college, but I have time to decide that. I’m just not a lay around kind of guy, I like to be involved and make myself useful, and that is what FFA has taught me.”
