“I basically joined FFA to show animals and compete at livestock judging events. I show horses and lambs right now. I have gotten grand champion sheep before. I like the state FFA convention, it’s a fun trip. FFA is a good program for kids, it teaches us skills that I know we will use in our future. My college of choice is WSU. I would like to have my own ranch someday and become an agriculture teacher.” #agriculture #FFA Behind the scenes with agri.CULTURE … @patreon.com/agriculturepeople

“I joined FFA when I was a freshman. I joined to show animals. I used to show sheep but I am taking a break from that. I also trap shoot and do some livestock judging. I really like the trips we get to take and especially like the trap shooting competitions. I have made a lot of friends in FFA. For my future it looks like I will work in the construction business with my cousins and uncles. I may go to college for a while or maybe a technical school. But I know I would like to work outside.” #agriculture #FFA Behind the scenes with agri.CULTURE … @patreon.com/agriculturepeople

“I joined FFA in my freshman year because I enjoy driving tractor and trap shooting. I can compete in both of those. From FFA I have learned about work ethics and how to use my time efficiently. I have made a lot of friends through FFA. I plan on learning welding and electrical to work in one of those fields when I get older. I am sure the skills I have learned in FFA will help me as I move forward.” #agriculture #FFA Behind the scenes with agri.CULTURE … @patreon.com/agriculturepeople

  • Jane 2019 FFA

“This is my second year in FFA. I basically joined because I grew up known as a “farm kid” and I thought it was a club for those types of kids. I have learned a ton about agriculture, but more about leadership and even confidence in myself. I have always tried to do as many competitions as I can, kinda to get out of school, but that ended up paying off. I made it to state then nationals last year and that was one of my best memories. That competition, hall of chapters/states, influenced me more than I knew at the time. I have realized since then that my social…

“I was in 4-H and my horse got sick. In 4-H you have to use the same horse throughout the year. I joined FFA because I can use a different horse and it was a way for me to keep showing my horses. I really enjoy FFA; it has helped me become a good team member. I also do horse judging and I really enjoy it. I am Miss Rodeo Othello for 2019 and I am sure that FFA helped me in my public speaking. My original plan was to go to Treasure Valley and work in horse production, a breeder. Now I am leaning towards the air force. I…

  • Gavin 2019 FFA

“This is my third year in FFA and I’m currently the Quincy FFA Vice President and District XI Secretary. FFA has improved my leadership skills and technical skills when it comes to soils, apples, equipment operation and people skills. I compete in Apple Judging, Livestock Judging, Ag Sales, Employment Skills, First Year CDE, Parliamentary Procedure, Land Judging, Agronomy, and Tractor Driving. FFA has taught me the value in hard work. And that hard work paid off when I was the State Champion Tractor Driver this fall. I like talking to people and I also got to put those skills to work when Quincy won the Hall of Chapters competition at the Washington State Convention in May…

  • Dylan 2019 FFA

“I joined FFA in my freshman year because I was a trap shooter. In FFA I can trap shoot as a competition. I also got into livestock judging and other things. I like to be with a lot of like-minded people. We all have similar interests. Trap shooting is still my favorite thing to do; I like the team we have. I am a pretty good welder and I am thinking of going into welding as a career. I would also like to help people who are showing animals at fairs. I am not sure what I will end up doing in the future, but I know it will include…

“Since both sides of my family have been involved in Agriculture for as long as I can remember, it seems only natural that I’d be interested in Ag as well. Springtime finds me playing baseball, branding calves and shipping them to spring pasture, harrowing hay fields, picking rocks and trapping gophers. In the summer I help ship pairs to pasture in Molson, Washington.  I also participate in alfalfa and timothy hay production, as well as working with my show steers, preparing for the Grant County Fair. Come fall, we’re bringing pairs home and weaning calves, playing football along with going to school, I stay pretty busy. During the winter season,…

“Taking a leap of faith and joining FFA my freshmen year was one of the best decisions I ever made. FFA has significantly changed my life forever. I have been involved with 4-H showing pigs and cattle since I was 9.  Both of my parents were involved in 4-H growing up, so they encouraged me to show the species they showed. My mom enjoyed the pigs, and my dad the steers. I just recently started showing the steers. They are my favorite. Although 4-H really helped me get my feet wet within the agriculture field, FFA has allowed me to immerse in it. My freshmen year, I participated in a lot…
