“The agri.CULTURE Stories” are a breath of fresh air for anyone interested in learning more about farming, animal husbandry and the people who live that lifestyle. The multi-generational aspect of farming and ranching is inherent, sometimes spanning 4 or 5 generations of family members working on and caring for the same ground. The “Real Farm & Ranch Kids Book” gives the reader hope in the future of agriculture. Learning about the children of those who come from many generations before them or from families who are new to agriculture is unique. Seeing the photos and hearing the stories “through the eyes of a child” is truly the best perspective for anyone to experience agriculture.”

The “Real Farm & Ranch Kids“ book is a treasure! The layout and photography are superb! The faces and stories of these young kids will touch your heart. It is a real testimony to the special relationship these young farmers have with the animals and their families. Their stories make you laugh and cry! This book would be excellent to read to and with your children and grandchildren. Each story brings the person in the story to life! It also highlights 4-H – a wonderful organization for kids.

Thank you Sue for bringing these special people into our view!

“The Little Farmers Book is a super cute tribute to all the little people in agriculture! As someone who grew up farming and still farms now, these stories take me back to my childhood and make me proud of our way of life. Sue does an amazing job compiling all these precious stories with adorable photos and paints a beautiful picture of growing up in agriculture. These stories are not only fun and cute, they are important. The agriculture industry can be so misunderstood —-this book shows the love that farmers and ranchers have for land and animals, and how proud we are for our part in caring for them.
My favourite quote in the book: “Sometimes, you fall off but you just gotta kick off the dirt and get back up!” Ain’t that the truth!!”

In 1957, Art Linkletter, a radio and television personality, wrote a book, “Kids Say The Darnedest Things!” based on his interviews with small people.
Now, here comes Sue Tebow with, in my opinion, an even better and funnier book “the Biggest Little Farmers — Real-life Photos and Little Stories from over 100 Farm Kids.” This is a collection of “interviews” with small boys and girls, who live, work and love their ranching life and the animals that they care for. The photos of them with their various creatures are by Sue. She has captured each youngster and their zest and understanding of their life on a ranch or a farm by simply listening.
I devoured this book in one sitting and had some true “laugh out loud” moments from these very wise and very funny (but they don’t know it) youngsters. One example, said by a small, tousled blond-haired little girl of maybe four or five years old and stylishly wearing a tutu in pinks and blues, “I’m going to be Princess. Milking the cows is my favorite thing to do on the farm, and I like to change water with Daddy. I like kittens, horses, and unicorns.” I have every reason to believe she will attain this goal.

In a world filled with tragic stories of children falling through the cracks, this book will assure you that, out on the prairies and vast spaces of the West, there still lives a work ethic passed down through the generations. These kids are not only funny; they are smart, imaginative and completely self-reliant.

Sue Tebow is the perfect person to have collected these stories. She lives on a ranch in eastern Washington, raising alfalfa and cattle. She has a very popular Facebook page, agri.CULTURE (I am one of her more than 25,000 ardent followers) and has made it her mission for the last five years to write a story about someone in ranching or farming every day. I am so glad that she included these “little farmers”! You will be too!

“This collection of stories about our agricultural youth gives me hope for our coming tomorrows! Kids truly are our future, and their images will be forever commemorated on these pages. Sue has made it her passion to share the agricultural industry, and this book showcasing some Ag kids is especially touching and memorable.”

This book was such a treat to look at and read. The photography is beautiful, Sue has a talent for catching sweet moments. Her subjects are so pure and simple, no need to “dress them up” they’re wonderful just like they are. This book shows us what the agricultural world is like through the eyes of children. I’ve noticed in some of her stories by adults that things don’t change a whole lot as we grow old. We still don’t mind getting dirty and have a cow lick us.

This book is honest, this book is real. It will make you smile a lot, cry a little, and fill you with hope for the future. Children represent all our futures, children of agriculture are going to feed us all. The lifestyle in which they grow up strengthens their tie to the land. And sets them on a path to success in the food pipeline. Through the photographs and looks that are on their faces you can feel the joy of their experience in the world of agriculture. Enjoy.

Real Farm and Ranch Kids is a wonderful collection of real stories, from real kids. As a California Dairy Farmer, Photographer, and Author of Clarice The Red Cow, I appreciated the sincerity, honesty and candidness of each story. Reading about the love and dedication to agriculture, from the children’s view, was wonderful! A child advocating for agriculture is a powerful and important part of our future. It was encouraging to see the love for the animals and land, being carried on to the next generation.

I’m sure this book will be enjoyed by many, of all ages!

The Real Farm & Ranch Kids Book is a refreshing inside look into the upcoming generation of farmers and rancher that will feed the world in the future. The quotes, stories, and photos will bring a smile to your face as you see the love and passion in their hearts for what is important to them. This is a great picture book for young and old alike, making it a great addition to waiting rooms as well as for gifts.

Looks like the pandemic was a great time to write books! (I met Sue in Washington DC several years ago when she was receiving an award there. Sue and her husband were the kindest people.) Please check out Sue’s website agri.Culture and order a book about Farm Kids. This looks like a super fun book, I have already pre-ordered mine at http://bit.ly/RealFarmRanchKids.

“Sue has an incredible gift that allows her to put into words real-life stories of real people on her daily blog on Facebook and Instagram. Our rural way of life and culture is fast vanishing from our landscape, and Sue brings these stories to life for the enjoyment and education of us all.
I purchased a number of the Farm & Ranch Kids books and gave them to my colleagues in Olympia. They loved the little stories and photos of the farm and ranch kids. I expect this book to make a difference in their lives and the lives of people they share with.
My personal favorite is the little girl who gets bucked off her pony and gets back on, cries a little but gets back on just the same. There are life lessons we can learn from farm kids if we just pay attention. I would recommend this book. You will be able to view agriculture in a unique way… through the eyes of a child.”

“This book is such a remarkable look into our young generation of “current and future” farmers. The joy on each of the children’s faces reading their story brings a smile to mine and to be able to share the book with others in my office and around my community is such a pleasure. Thank you for delivering a high-quality masterpiece!”

  19. Ketterer Family

Our family, most especially our young boys, absolutely loved the book. More than another well written book for our family before bed time, it helped us articulate stories from our families’ prior generations on farms and ranches, as well as draw parallels to other families that live on acreage or raise animals. It really opened our boys’ eyes in knowing that other families share the same values in honoring land, livestock, and the rewarding work that ties us to the essentials in this world. Highly recommended for all readers!
